BSc in Economics

The Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Economics prepares students for employment in a variety of business or government positions, and for continued study in graduate schools in economics, business, and other fields. This program focuses on analyzing the allocation of scarce resources, highlighting the importance of making choices between competing alternatives. It equips students with the tools to make informed decisions in areas such as consumer and firm behavior, employment, price stability, trade, international finance, economic growth, public finance, and public policy.

Elective Courses

Students may concentrate in a Thematic Area and take all its 6 specialized elective courses (45 ECTS) or choose any mix of 6 elective courses (45 ECTS) from different thematic areas and/or from other Bachelor programs. Particularly, students may choose one of the following options:

1. Choose one of the following three thematic areas (concentrations), each consisting of six (6) specified elective courses (45 ECTS). All six courses within the chosen thematic area must be completed by the student to acquire the concentration.

Note: The chosen thematic area is recorded on the Transcript of Credits and the Diploma Supplement, but not on the Degree itself. All students receive the same degree (ενιαίο πτυχίο) regardless of the thematic area they have chosen.

  • Elective courses can be taken from the 1st semester of the 3rd year through the 1st semester of the 4th year.
